Crossing a Smokey Street
__________
I wish I could say this was shot naturally - but its posed. This is one of the friends I made during TIFF. We were on our way to the Regancy Hotel from the Elgin when we spotted this and decided to stop three cars in order to take this shot! It's amazing what a beautiful girl's smile can do sometimes. I think this is the first personal image that I've shot on the 70-200!
You may have noticed the website shifting in design. We're trying to make it easier to view the website on mobile devices. This will continue over the next few weeks as we test and get feedback.
Netflix Launch (Press Conference)
This morning Netflix launched in Canada. Most of the information had already been leaked online for a few days, but it's always good to hear news right out of the "horse's mouth". The press conference was held on John St. right where Circa used to be. The bar and some of the architecture from the club was still around but painted black. You can read all the details about Netflix in our article over at BlogTO. Here are some images that didn't make it into the article:
TIFF Red Carpet Images
To say it's been a busy week is a huge understatement. The 2010 Toronto International Film Festival this week has robbed me of all my time and of my birthday this week - but since I love what do, it's no problem. Yesterday was the last day of the festival (September 9-19) and so I'm posting some images from the week.
This is Russell Peters - after a brief conversation with him and a few laughs he gave me this awesome pose on the "green carpet".
Colin Mochrie and his wife Debra McGrath answering questions for etalk.
Left to right: Sturla Gunnarsson, David Suzuki, and George Stroumboulopoulos posing for the camera.
As you can see this is David Suzuki and I'm riding off the coattails of etalk during the carpet.
Fans waiting for talent outside a red carpet hoping to get a picture of somebody famous.
This beautiful lady is local photographer Caitlin Cronenberg - pretty sure I have the biggest childhood crush on her ever.
Johnathon Keltz from Entourage (Ari's assistant) on the red carpet at Hello! Canada.
Lennox Lewis speaking with Rogers TV (cable access in Toronto). Surprisingly, he was at a few red carpets, and I saw him around town as well.
From left to right: Dustin Milligan, Rick de Kelrk and Amanda Crew
I'm not sure who this is - but I think the one on the right is Kathleen Robertson from the original 90210
Ivana Santilli posing for the camera.
Trish Stratus - former WWE star.
K'naan at the TIFF Lightbox Block Party - which was the launch of the building.
You can only take so many shots of the same nature. There were a lot of children at this event.
Fans line up at the Elgin theater for a screening of Henry's Crime.
Matt Damon posing around fans at the premiere of Hereafter.
Clint Eastwood rushing past cameras!
This was the night I waited two hours to miss the shot.
Dean Blundell and Todd Shapiro entering the theater - they weren't on the red carpet.

It was along hectic week and I've learned quite a bit, especially how to deal with very little social life and intense days at work with sharp deadlines. There are loads of other images but I'm saving others to sprinkle between blog posts throughout the next few months. I'm going to leave this for a few days and then start to update regularly again!
Cleaning up at the Bell TIFF Lightbox
__________
It's funny how things work out sometimes. I forgot my iPhone in one of the cup holders inside the main theater. On the way back to pick up my silenced phone, I spotted this gentleman on his cell phone cleaning the stairs. I pulled the camera out and snapped this one - I couldn't help it. It wasn't on the media tour so it never made it into the article!
EDIT: You can read the entire article and see every shot over at BlogTO.
